Anchorage Mayors Marathon –Randy Woodward — MM15271

Anchorage Mayors Marathon today was good. Although around mile ten I was unable to keep energy levels up. Began sprinkling shortly after the marathon started and continued the majority of the event. My clothing and boots became soaked. The added weight plus a decent breeze blowing the flag wore me out. Was pushing gel packs every three miles. The effects wore off after one mile each time. We got it finished and Alaska is in the books for state number 38.

There was a bear and her two cubs on the trail around the halfway point. Caused a runners delay and reroute. Couple of moose in the field (photos taken by running friend Margaret Moon).

My feet were mad at me for running in wet combat boots. So happy to get back to the room, get a hot shower and veg out.
