For the last time, Rock and Roll Virginia Beach, Virginia Beach, VA. My worst time ever, but I finished!!! Also had the distinction of being one of the last three official finishers ever for this race!!! Half marathon #42 (I think) complete!!! WOO HOO!!! HF #5507!!! 🙂! ☺️👍💚🏃🐢🇺🇸

#MedalMonday….Enjoyed half marathon #68 at the Virginia Beach RnR. Glad I finally got a chance to partake in the event this year, since it is the final one for this location. Great course that was flat for the most part, with only a couple of hills mixed in. Great seeing several fanatics pre-race and during the course. HF#12236, MM#155380, DA#3564.

So I did a thing this weekend. I completed 3 races in 2 days at the final Rock N Roll Virginia Beach. Did the 5k, 1 mile, and finished it today with the half. It was cooler than previous years but still hot AF. I’m ok with my times. Which I never post any way. Although if you wanna look it up. Know that the RnR site hasn’t updated with all the participants. I was fairly disappointed that this was both the last and the 20th Anniversary race and they really didn’t do anything to celebrate either. That being said it was still an awesome time and the race crew (officials and volunteers) were amazing. Thx for everything RnR. #runstrong #runhappy #celebratefinishlinesnotfinishtimes #offtoworkigo 🤣🤣🤣

Sunday, 05 September 2021. My 3rd (2014, 2019, and sadly FINAL 2021) Rock ‘n’ Roll Virginia Beach Half Marathon, 3rd in-person Half Marathon for 2021, and Lifetime Half Marathon #16 Done ✅ in my home state. It was a great weekend and weather to spend with running friends, meet new running friends, and say Farewell to Rock ‘n’ Roll Virginia Beach Half Marathon Weekend. From another friend, I heard there were over 4,200 finishers at this year’s Final Rock ‘n’ Roll Virginia Beach Half Marathon to bid farewell to this event after 20 years! I was back in my room after I finished to take Honey and K.C. outside, then we returned to my room and I watched the last of the runners head to the Finish Line from my balcony. I was witness to the race announcers (I believe Brian and Michael) give their Farewell speeches after the last runner crossed the last Rock ‘n’ Roll Virginia Beach Half Marathon Finish Line after 20 years. It was a bittersweet moment for so many reasons. #wearblueruntoremember #wbr2r #runinblue #forthefallen #HalfFanatics #hf18360

Although, I’m happy to have finished lifetime half marathon #150 in my hometown, I’m bummed that I hit this milestone during the final RnR Virginia Beach Half Marathon Weekend. When I first ran this event five years ago, I swore I’d never do it again. Of course that was a lie and it became something of a Labor Day weekend tradition. Bittersweet, indeed. #HF8068 #MM12723 #DA2354 #RnRVABeach
